*All anyone who saw the video of a white man punching a Black female security guard in the face could do was gasp. The incident was caught on surveillance video. It really wasn’t clear what was going on as there is no sound, but you could see a Black female security guard apparently speaking to someone who was a part of a group of about four people.

The people look as if they are about to leave. One man, wearing a cap, who was just standing at a table all of a sudden grabs a bottle of water and begins to stroll towards the security guard. With no warning whatsoever, he throws the water at her. She appears to say something to him but he hauls off and straight up punches her in the face. He, and the group of people, then simply walk away. (Scroll down for the shocking video).

The security guard, stunned by pain and disoriented, stumbles for a few seconds before opening a set of glass doors and disappearing inside.

An alert was put out on social media (I jumped on board and posted it on my private page, too) for someone to help ID the man.

We are learning more now.

UPDATE: The man responsible for punching Zoa Stigler outside of a River North condo in Chicago was obviously struck by his own conscience…

On Tuesday he turned himself in.

Although he was expected to be charged on Tuesday night, there is no public ID on him. A “friend” of the man, a woman named Dawn Valenti, says although she doesn’t pretend to defend his actions — because she feels they were wrong — calls him a “good” person who has expressed remorse.

“He’s very sorry for what he did. He’s very remorseful. He turned himself in because he knew that was the right thing to do,” Valenti said.

According to a report on ABC7, the attack went down early Sunday. Stigler had tried to help the man; who had been passed out drunk on the ground in front of the building. She told him he had to get up. He eventually did and a few moments later, his punch to her face ended with her sustaining a broken nose and black eye.

On Tuesday, Stigler, who is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday, was called in to identify the man in a lineup. She also gave a statement to the Cook County State Attorney’s Office.

Stigler, a mother and new grandmother, who also attends school, says while she does forgive the man, she’s not buying the whole remorse thing.

“You can’t be too sorry, because you walked away. And the people who were with you can’t be sorry because they saw what he did and no one held him accountable,” Stigler said.

Folks at the property where the incident happened raised $10,000 for Stigler via a GoFundMe page.
