Watch: Tired of Peach Fuzz on That Pretty Face…Just Shave It! (Here’s How)

*Wow! The price we women pay to slay. Fellas just don’t know.

Many women grew up hearing if you shave those unwanted hairs, say, on your arms or legs, they will grow back even thicker. Frightened out of our minds at this prospect, we might have a natural tendency to view the video below with a side eye.

Why? Because it shows you how to shave your entire face to get rid of that unsightly peach-fuzz. And women all over have secretly been doing it.

YouTube Beauty Expert, Kirbie Johnson, admittedly shaves her face. She said ever since she was young she had thick blonde hairs above her lip and fuzz all over her face, which made her feel insecure. But after a reality show beauty admitted to shaving HER face, Johnson decided to go all in too!

She ran right to the store to get some razors and she hasn’t looked back since.

Now Kirby is using her YouTube channel to show you how its done.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Razors of course. This woman went to Sally Beauty Supply and picked up a pair of Touch N Go razors — generally used for brows. They’re not that sharp so they won’t cut your skin, and they’re angled.

Johnson says what she notices and likes about shaving her face with this style razor (she actually uses a Tinkle razor in the video) is that it:

  • Makes her face brighter and smoother.
  • Her makeup goes on smoother
  • No more embarrassing face hair!

So let’s get to the process. How exactly do you shave your face?

Don’t laugh. There’s a CORRECT way to do it, and no, its not like shaving a mustache:

  • No water or shaving cream is needed to shave your face. Johnson admits this is just her opinion and recommends a nice, clean face with towel-dried skin.
  • Then turn the razor at a 45-degree angle, and shave in short, downward strokes.
  • Pull the skin taut as its being shaved. This way, your face gets the benefit of being evenly shaved and looks smoothr instead of choppy.

As is the case with anything, maintenance is key.

Johnson suggests that to eliminate breakouts and dry skin: MOISTURIZE!!! Especially right after you shave.

She reminds us that the shaving is a form of exfoliation, and also suggests sunscreen use for those going outside.

How often should you shave?

Well, I’ll bet that’s an individual thang depending on how quickly your hair grows.

But let’s see what Johnson says.

“That’s totally up to you. If you feel like your hair is growing back every other day, go for it!”

She does make a point that kind of alludes to the situation I presented earlier about hair growing back thicker. But uses “dark” hair as the example and admits she doesn’t know what the end result will look like. Remember: Her hair is blonde. Yours might be black or brown.

I’m kinda feeling I should leave my peach-fuzz the hell alone. Just my luck I’d be the ONE person whose hair would grow back darker AND longer! Just kidding. I’m one of the lucky ones. I may have a tiny bit of peach fuzz, but not once have I ever had to shave my legs. Unheard of, right?

Will YOU shave your face?
