Tricks ‘Bad Guys’ Use to Lure Women from Cars (Video)

Shirt, windshield

*I will never forget the time a girlfriend told me that she had pulled up to her house late one night, and sat in her car for a while. You know how we do, we have reached our destination, sit in the car listening to voice mail or checking our messages or even decide to make a call. Well, as she sat, she told me a hooded man ran up to her car and knocked on the window with a … wait for it…

Knife.

Fortunately, after sounding the horn and scaring the man off, she was unharmed.

But that’s just how brazen these bad guys have become. For some women they consider women “easy prey.” I have come across a few tricks used by them that I want you to know about. They’ve gotten really creative so think twice about stopping, or leaving your car if you see something out of the ordinary. Though I hate saying that because it could also be a serious and real opportunity to help someone — so instead of getting out and possible placing yourself in danger, call 911 and make them aware of the situation.

Here are 3 tricks bad guys use to lure women from their cars.

Shirt Wrapped Around Windshield Trick

A Flint Michigan woman recently got into her car and realized someone had draped a blue flannel shirt over the glass and secured it under the windshield wiper. Suspicious, instead of getting out of her car to remove it, she did something smart.

Of course as women our instincts prevail when it comes to anything involving children. So we would never suspect these heartfelt feelings would be used against us to satisfy something like a gang initiation. But alas, they are. You’ve read the stories. These days, this crazy world has revealed people walking up to you in broad daylight trying to take your baby from your arms; or mentally ill individuals (not exclusively men) grabbing kids in train stations and attempting to throw them onto the tracks. Now, the latest gang tactic is to place a child’s car seat (with a real looking dolls) on a private or less-traveled road in hopes that woman will get out and inquire. DON’T.

‘Undercover Cops’ and the 1-1-2 Trick

A woman was driving when she suddenly realized a car was following her. The ‘undercover cop’ car motioned for her to pull over. Her good sense kicked in and she remembered something her mom told her. She dialed 112, a number which connects you to a police dispatcher. She which told to keep driving because they had no cars dispatched in the area she described.

Shortly after police cars surrounded her and the supposed ?cop.? They got the man and arrested him, and the woman soon found out he was a convicted rapist and wanted for other crimes too. If you ever find yourself in this situation DO NOT slow down or pull over. Immediately call 1-1-2 and they will tell you what to do and whether or not the car is real or not.

Even legitimate police cars have to respect your need to pull over in well-lit, populated place such as a gas station or restaurant, so don?t be afraid to put your safety first, which you should do anyway.

Let’s continues to use our heads and our heart moving forward in this crazy world. I remember one thing Oprah Winfrey once said when alleged family members accused her of being a bitch because she didn’t just throw money at them. I’m paraphrasing here, but she said something to the effect of: “My being broke won’t help anyone.” I use the same analogy when it comes to personal safety: Placing yourself in an unsafe position helps no one. While it may save the intended target, it could also take you from the family who loves you.
