*A Colorado teen who had been asked by his stepdad to do chores around the house and contribute financially, allegedly took a seven inch blade and stabbed the man seven to nine times.
As the man lay dying, the teen too out his smartphone and began recording.
Then he posted video of the dying man on snap chat.
?Hey guys I just killed him. I just killed him. I just killed him,? Nickolas Khalil Vinson could be heard saying in the video. A man was face down, covered in blood. A woman kneeling next to the man was screaming, ?Lemar, can you hear me? Can you hear me? No!? The video than panned back to the person making it, identified as Nick Vinson.
Oscar Lemar Owensby, 50, was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to authorities, Vinson and Owensby had words earlier in the day after Nick didn’t take kindly to being told what to do. Reports say Owensby and the 19-year-old agreed to a fist fight, but then the elder man left to pick up his common law wife, Nick’s mother, Celena Vinson.
When the mother and her husband returned, she told her son, who was in the basement, they “needed to talk.” The son refused to come upstairs where his stepdad was.
A written affidavit states, Vinson told police Owensby stood at the top of the stairs and challenged him to come up and fight. When the teen didn’t comply, the stepdad went down into the basement and was about to hit him with his fist. It was then that the teen stabbed him near the neck.
Vinson said he kept stabbing Owensby ?to end it? because he didn?t want him to suffer, the affidavit continues.
By the time police arrived at the Aurora, Colo. home, Vinson had fled. According to the Denver Post, a policeman called Nick Vinson, who allegedly admitted killing his stepfather and said he had driven away from their home in his mother?s Ford Explorer.
He told police he was looking for his friends so he could say goodbye and tell them he would be away for a long time, the affidavit says.
Vinson told the officer he would drive home, but police stopped him before he got to the house. He was covered in blood and had a large cut on top of his left hand. When Vinson opened the driver?s side door, blood dripped on the ground, investigators said.
The mother of a girl who had viewed the gruesome Snapchat called police to report it. Celena Vinson called police to report the stabbing as well.
Nickolas Vinson has been charged with First Degree Murder in the stabbing death of Lemar Owensby.
