*Many of you may be too young to remember how, in 1969, serial killer Charles Manson shook the core of the United States of America when he and a band of young, misguided, and vulnerable individuals went on a killing spree. I was but a child, yet I remember it well. For what was ultimately a four night slaughter, Manson and his followers took the lives of nine innocent people. The first night they went to the home of film director Roman Polanski and killed his pregnant wife, actress Sharon Tate, along with writer Wojciech Frykowski, coffee heiress Abigail Folger and celebrity hair stylist Jay Sebring. Steven Parent, who was a friend of the family’s gardener, was also killed. And on the following night, Manson was said to be dissatisfied with the sloppiness of the job, so he went to the home of supermarket executive Leno LaBianca and killed him and his wife, Rosemary.
The murders were committed by Manson followers Tex Watson, Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel, and Leslie van Houten. And the group would eventually be arrested and indicted for the crimes.
I recall the entire country appeared to hold its breath in unison. And the horrendous event would go down in history as the Tate-LaBianca Murders.
Once apprehended Manson was sentenced to death, but since the death penalty in California was abolished in 1970, his penalty was reduced to life in prison. Today,?Charles Manson is 82-years-old and he has been in prison for more than four decades.?His face looks like the epitome of hate, and it still bears the swastika tattoo, smack dab in between his eyebrows, that was just taking shape back in the day (see photo above).

State corrections officials tell the media he has been nothing short of a hell-raiser ever since. Manson is said t have been cited for more than 100 rules violations since he arrived in 1971;?when he and other members of the “Manson Family” were convicted of first-degree murder.
MSN News?reports?the notorious cult leader?has been cited for assault, repeated possession of a weapon, threatening staff, and possessing a cellphone, according to what Terry Thornton, a spokeswoman for the California Department?of Corrections and Rehabilitation told them on?Wednesday.
“Suffice it to say that he cannot be described as a model prisoner,” she said.
Perhaps the end is near for this evil being. Manson was reportedly taken from his California prison cell to the hospital on Wednesday, and while lips are sealed as to why, officials do confirm that he still alive…which may be his punishment, once you think about it.
