San Diego Woman Gets Life Sentence for Murder of Husband and Teen Daughter (Watch)

Regina Johnson at September 2017 sentencing for the murder of her teen daughter and husband

*I swear, its times like this that reiterate why I didn’t choose a profession in law. People could be guilty as hell, but the emotional pleas of mothers — accused of hurting their children or even worse, I just don’t know…

“Your Honor, you are not a fair judge. How can you sit there and say ‘the evidence’ – what evidence?'”

These words came out of the mouth of Regina Johnson, a woman who has been sentenced to 80 years in prison for the 2012 murder of her 14-year-old daughter, Aaliyah Johnson, and her husband, 56-year-old, Reuben Johnson — the girl’s father.

Johnson remains adamant that she didn’t do it! Well, not both murders, just the murder of her husband. She claims he is the one that killed their 14-year-old daughter.

Johnson says she killed him in self defense; and accused him of infidelity and years of abuse.

The video of the sentencing, where she lashes out at the judge (scroll down) is painful to watch.

Yet the question remains: Why did she stay in the house with the bodies for three days before the death was reported? And even then, she didn’t contact the authorities, she allegedly contacted an out-of-state relative.

Doesn’t exactly sound like the actions of an innocent woman.

But the video of her emotional outburst to the judge, at her sentencing, is why I say I am glad it’s not me in the seat with the gavel.

Johnson reportedly “ambushed” her husband and daughter at the family’s condo in May 2012. A note written by her, in red lipstick, is seen in the video and says in part, “This is your fault. ”

Deputy District Attorney, Nicole Rooney, believes Johnson, “came up with a story she could live with.”
