Little Boy Who Tried to Protect His Sister from Mom’s Ex-Boyfriend Dies from Injuries

*I’m just going to say it. It takes one heartless motherf***er to beat a child to death. Add to this, one that would kill a young boy who was trying to save his young sister.

Heartless.

Yet it is the fate of an 8-year-old boy in South Sacramento, California, who tried to save his 7-year-old sister from an attack by their mother’s ex-boyfriend.

Dante Daniels was on the way to school with his little sister and their 27-year-old mother, Elizabeth Salone, when 23-year-old Deandre Chaney Jr., Salones ex-boyfriend, attacked them.

When the man starting performing a lewd act on his sister, Dante apparently jumped in to save her. Chaney, Jr. beat the boy with a hammer and used a knife on him as well.

He then went on to attack the girl and her mother. He is even said to have used lighter fluid.

The three were transported to a hospital, but the boy died from his injuries six days later.

Dante’s grandmother spoke with the media while showing pictures of the grandson she clearly adored.

“Trying to save his sister from this child molester, and that’s why he was beat the worst,? she said.

She also said that her daughter is coming along, but will probably never see out of her left eye again; and adds that her granddaughter will “need a lot of help.”

Dante’s heroism didn’t stop after his passing. Because of the wonderful gift of organ donation a young boy in southern California lives with his heart.

The heartless motherf***er, Deandre, is facing murder and attempted murder charges; and a charge of lewd acts on a child under 14.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family.

“We are asking for any help possible due to the fact the kids need multiple surgeries along with medical bills and recovery,” the donation page reads. “They will all need to go through counseling.”

“The children will never be the same from this tragedy nor will their mother. They will be traumatized from such vicious crime. They will need to start over from the ground up. Anything helps pray, share, a small donation.”

To date the campaign has raised $45,166 of it $50,000 goal over the 22-day period it has been active.

Donors also share heartfelt words of support in their comments.
