*Hill Harper and fellow actor Nate Parker team up again to host their 10th Annual Toy Drive & Fundraiser — and this year the men are joined by a host committee of change makers that include political commentator Angela Rye, popular DJ B Hen, TV personality Vanessa Simmons and iHeart Media program director, Doc Wynter.

The charity event takes place in Hollywood on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 8pm-12am at the Avalon Hollywood – 1735 Vine St., Los Angeles, CA 90028 and boasts attendance by numerous leading actors, entertainers and philanthropists.

For the past nine years the dynamic duo has changed the lives of underprivileged youth across Los Angeles. Both men are respected for their activism; but in addition, Harper is a successful actor, author, television host and entrepreneur and Parker has gleaned success as an actor (You’ve seen ‘Birth of a Nation’ right?), director, producer, writer, and musical performer.

Together, these two powerhouse men create a joyful holiday season for hundreds as they collect toys for youth and raise funds for the Manifest Your Destiny Foundation?s Summer Empowerment Academy and the Nate Parker Foundation?s Summer Film Institute.

The toys donated benefit the Salvation Army Transitional Living Center and other families in need.

Hill Harper speaks to students attending class at Manifest Your Destiny

Hill Harper speaks on the event, ?I am grateful to be a blessing to so many people in need. This event not only supports youth for the holidays, but year round as proceeds fund programming and initiatives for my non-profit. The work that we do truly changes
the lives of so many young people. My goal is to be the change I seek in the world.?

The Manifest Your Destiny Foundation provides at-risk youth with a path to empowerment and educational excellence through programs that focus on academic enrichment, college preparation and psycho-social and physical development.

This year the event will honor donors, volunteers and friends that have supported the toy drive for the past 10 years. Guests will enjoy music, hors d’oeuvres and cocktails as twenty people are recognized for their contributions and commitment to the community.

Nate Parker entertains questions at an NPF event

companies that support us in this mission,? adds Nate Parker.
