Fired! Aide to Florida State Lawmaker Gone After He Allegedly Called Survivors of H.S. Shooting ‘Actors’

*In no context whatsoever is calling anyone who was fortunate enough to survive the shooting attack that killed 17 students and teachers at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida “actors,” acceptable. Fortunately, it only took a nano-second for that to be realized by folks with the power to do something about it. The author of the asinine comment, Benjamin A. Kelly, was quickly dealt with.

“Tonight Mr. Kelly was terminated from his position as my District Secretary,” said District 63 Rep, Shawn Harrison, in a statement posted on Twitter Tuesday night. “I am appalled at and strongly denounce his comments about the Parkland students. “I am again sorry for any pain this has caused the grieving families of this tragedy,” he wrote.

It all began after an email was sent to Benjamin A. Kelly, District Secretary for Harrison, by reporter Alex Leary seeking more information on a claim.

The response he received from Kelly could have not been imagined by anyone.

?Here’s the email,? Leary, who took a screenshot of the email, tweeted.

?I asked for more information to back up the claim and was sent another email that linked to a YouTube conspiracy video.?

The comment, as you can imagine, brought ire from everyone. U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., included.

“Claiming some of the students on tv after are actors is the work of a disgusting group of idiots with no sense of decency,” Rubio tweeted.

?I was shocked and angry to read the appalling email about the brave students who traveled to Tallahassee today,? Florida House Speaker Richard Corcoran said in a statement Tuesday evening. ?On behalf of the entire Florida House, I sincerely apologize to the students targeted and again commend them for their courage through this unspeakable tragedy.

He also said…

?[Harrison] immediately contacted me and with his full support, I terminated the employment of the individual responsible,” he added.
