When it comes to residential fencing, there are a bunch of rules and regulations that come into play. For instance, a fence can?t be too tall, it can?t be dangerous, and it can?t travel into a neighboring property. Different jurisdictions actually require all residential fencing to be set either two, four, six, or eight inches from the property line.
Though it?s no secret fencing disputes often cause all kinds of problems between neighbors, certain fence styles can actually bring some together and even… go viral?
According to The Atlanta Journal Constitution, though a tall fence separated a 2-year-old boy and a Labrador retriever, they were still able to play catch, become friends, and capture the hearts of millions of Americans through the magic of the Internet.
Chad Nelson, a photojournalist in Minneapolis, Minnesota, told his news station (KARE11) that he, his wife, and their son Conway were at a friend’s home for a play date when their neighbor’s dog, Dozer, started peering over the fence into the yard. Dozer wasn’t simply just popping his head over to say hello and do his neighborly duties, however, he had other plans. Dozer had a ball and Dozer simply wanted to play catch.
“A fence can’t stop my 2-year-old from playing with his new best friend,” said Chad. “Conway just loves playing catch.”
During the adorable exchange, a friend, Erin Richter, started video taping the game of fetch. After a few shares on social media, the video then went viral, being seen more than 8 million times on Facebook.
“It was just a cute thing,” Chad added. “We just thought Conway was being cute and our friends would like it, and all of a sudden it?s being shared to thousands of people.”
